Your face is making millions of tiny movements every day that add up over time. These are the fine lines and folds that can be difficult to treat because dermal fillers may cause the area to appear stiff. RHA fillers create a much more natural appearance.

FILLER Post-Treatment Recommendations

After undergoing dermal filler treatments, adhering to post-treatment guidelines is essential to achieve optimal outcomes and reduce the risk of side effects. Here are some general post-treatment recommendations for dermal fillers:

1. Avoid Touching the Area

  • Refrain from touching or massaging the treated area for at least 6 hours after the procedure. This helps to prevent the filler from moving to an undesired location.

2. Limit Sun Exposure

  • Minimize exposure to intense heat (e.g., sunbathing, saunas) for at least 24 hours after treatment to reduce the risk of swelling or redness.

3. Stay Hydrated

  • Drink plenty of water to help maintain the hydration level of the skin and optimize results.

4. Avoid Strenuous Activities

  • Refrain from vigorous exercise or activities for 24-48 hours post-treatment.

5. Skip the Makeup

  • It's recommended to avoid applying makeup to the treated area for at least 12 hours to prevent potential contamination or irritation.

6. Avoid Alcohol

  • Alcohol can increase the risk of swelling, so it's best to avoid it for at least 24 hours post-treatment.

7. Sleep Elevated

  • If possible, sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night to minimize swelling.

8. Cold Compress

  • Some may feel areas of hardness or numbness; this usually resolves over time.

9. Avoid Blood Thinners

  • If possible, avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, and vitamin E for a few days post-treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

10. Follow-Up

  • Schedule a follow-up appointment with your provider to assess the results and determine if any touch-ups are needed.

11. Report Any Concerns

  • If you notice any unusual side effects or have concerns about the treatment area, contact your provider immediately.

12. Maintain Results

  • To prolong the effects of the filler, consider scheduling maintenance treatments as recommended by your provider.
